Lamb shares are available, harvest date of February 2022, pickup at Diamond S Meats the week of March 7th, 2022.
Lambs shares can be purchased as a half or a whole animal. Lambs currently weigh 87 pounds so we are aiming for 100+ pound lambs, producing approximately 50 pounds of meat for our customers (depending on bone-in or out). This comes frozen in the cut and wrap order of your choosing through our wonderful local butcher Diamond S Meats, and their meat cutting instructions can be found on their website. Additionally, they will do the entire order as ground.
*Please read carefully:
to be in compliance with Oregon law, you must pay Diamond S Meats at the time of pickup. Cut and wrap fees are in addition to the farm fee for the lamb. Fees are $85 for 1/2 lamb, $170 for a whole. Visit Diamond S Meats for their cut list.
Lambs are born in April, 2021. Lamb shares give us as the farmer the ability to raise the animal and sell it directly to the customer. The lamb never has to get hauled to a strange facility to be processed. These are truly pasture lambs: They spend their entire lives on pasture. We do have to supplement in dry years such as this with local hay or local Grange alfalfa pellets. These lambs do not receive growth hormones or antibiotics.
